Evaluation Services

Neurodevelopmental

Neurodevelopmental assessments (previously referred to as autism spectrum disorder evaluations) offer diagnostic clarification for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and can also help to differentiate ASD from other neurodevelopmental disorders that may present similarly. This evaluation offers recommendations specific to ASD, when present, as well as recommendations for treatment options when other neurodevelopmental disorders are present. Autism spectrum testing is available for individuals aged 31 months to 18 years old.

Cognitive & Learning

Learning evaluations are primarily used in order to identify and diagnose a specific learning disorder in reading, writing, and mathematics. As a wide variety of difficulties may influence academic achievement, we typically schedule a neuropsychological evaluation first to rule out any other psychological or cognitive condition that may be the cause for the identified academic difficulties. This also maximizes insurance coverage for the identified problems. If after the evaluation it is determined that academic testing is warranted, recommendations and discussion of the process will happen at that time. Please note that all academic achievement testing is unable to be billed through insurance. As such, any academic achievement testing is considered out-of-pocket services that require payment in-full before the appointment.

Gifted

Gifted evaluations involve intelligence (IQ) testing for students who need to qualify for gifted and talented programs or for individuals who require an IQ for career entry qualifications. Please note these evaluations are not able to be billed through insurance and require payment in-full before the appointment.

Neuropsychological

Neuropsychological evaluations offer clients and referral sources with diagnostic clarification when the client has concerns regarding changes in their cognitive functioning (e.g. memory, attention, executive functioning, etc.). Additionally, neuropsychological evaluations allow for clarification regarding a mental health condition that may impact cognitive functioning as well. Our neuropsychological evaluations offer recommendations specific to the cognitive and emotional complaints identified by the client or their referral source to help improve their daily functioning. Please be aware that PPA is limited with the specificity of neuropsychological evalutions related to neurocognitive disorders, which may result in a referral for more specialized testing. Please inquire for more information.

Cognitive & Adaptive

Adaptive evaluations provide an IQ and adaptive functioning score. This evaluation does not include a diagnosis or recommendations, and it is typically most appropriate when only an IQ and adaptive functioning score is needed for services.

Psychological

Our psychological evaluations offer diagnostic clarification for mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and so on. Psychological evaluations can be used when a client needs clarification regarding their mental health diagnosis and recommendations for possible treatment interventions.
